Andrew Sukawaty joins STJ Advisory Board

We are delighted to announce that Andy Sukawaty has joined our Advisory Board with effect from 1^st March 2026.

Andy brings a wealth of international leadership experience in the TMT sector. He is the Co-founder and Partner of Corten Capital, a private equity firm focusing on B2B software and services across Europe. 

Andy acted as the Chair and CEO of Inmarsat PLC for two decades, leading the company through its privatisation, subsequent IPO and trade sale. As the Chair of Ziggo (Euronext) and Xyratex (NASDAQ), two Private Equity led transactions, Andy led two highly successful IPOs. The STJ team worked closely with Andy on the Inmarsat and Ziggo IPOs and have fostered a long-standing relationship throughout.  

Andy has had a pioneering career in telecoms in both private and public markets - launching some of the first US mobile phone systems and then crossing the Atlantic to start a UK mobile operator (which became T-Mobile UK). He went on to run NTL in the UK and later returned to the US to start up the US national mobile phone operator, Sprint PCS, leading its NYSE listing. Andy was a Senior Independent Director at Sky and Deputy Chair of O2 PLC. He has also held advisory roles with Warburg Pincus, Apax and General Atlantic and has managed multiple private equity led buyouts.

He is currently an independent board member of RELX PLC and Hg Capital LLP.  

He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota (MBA) and the University of Wisconsin.
